It’s simply that – restorative. Centring your breath and body – aligning physical and mental by practicing stillness or extremely gentle movement for extended periods of time. Props are used and these help support the body in stillness. It’s not an active practice but rather receptive. The poses are held anywhere from 5-20 minutes each. When you practice this yoga you enter into a state of intense relaxation, where you can begin to let go of those deep things which do not serve you emotionally or physically. A great way to soothe frayed nerves.
As the name says this is all about restoring the body. Everyone should be including some stillness into their lives and this is a great place to start.
